Carls Tip: Thermal Printer no longer prints out on Firefox since the Firefox update.

Since the recent May 2016 update to Mozilla Firefox thermal receipt printers are no longer working with Firefox.

This only effects computers where the till has been set up to not pop up a dialogue box in when printing from Mozilla Firefox.

Close all sessions of Firefox. Open up a new session. in the address bar enter in about:config and press enter.

You may get a message regarding Here be Dragons.

Select "I'll be careful, I promise" you will be taken to the Mozilla Firefox hidden config page.

At the top of the page in the Search box, type in print.always_print_silent

You should see a result which is set to True. Double click this and set to false.

Then close this session down and open up a new session. Log into RPii as normal. This does now mean that you will get a print dialogue page when you do a receipt - but the good things is you can click cancel if the customer doesn't want a receipt.

Integration with DPD couriers

If you use DPD as one of your delivery couriers then why not have RPii automate the process. The EPOS system will send DPD the delivery manifests, which DPD will then import into it's system.

DPD will then export a file with consignment numbers on, which we will automatically import into point of sale.

If this is something you are interested in, then give us a call.

Integration with Interlink Express couriers

If you use Interlink Express as one of your delivery couriers then why not have RPii automate the process. The EPOS system will send Interlink the delivery manifests, which Interlink will then import into it's system.

Interlink will then export a file with consignment numbers on, which we will automatically import into point of sale.

If this is something you are interested in, then give us a call.

Setting up a trade customer with 30 days or net monthly terms

If you give a customer some settlement terms then their statement produced via the Accounts Module will show a due date accordingly.  Two types of terms are supported.
  1. A specific number of days from the invoice date. Simply enter this into the Settlement Days box on the customer record.
  2. Net Monthly - ie the last day of the month following the date of invoice. EG an invoice date of 15/04/15 will give a due date of 31/05/2015. To use this enter NETMONTHLY in the Settlement Discount Schemes box.

Carls Tip: New Manifest filtering

Previously when creating or listing up current manifests, there was only an option to filter delivery manifests by location.

After the next up date there will be more options, allowing you to filter if the by Couriers or Own delivery teams, as well as individual teams, locations and the ship date of the Manifest.

Select the criteria you want to filter on and click the magnify glass to search.

Once items are on the Manifest you can print two different versions of the Manifest (Carrier and Own), Delivery Notes and Picking Lists.

For serial number tracked items select the + next to the model number, it will pop up a list of available serial numbers. Tick the lines that need to be confirmed, and select the Completed button, this will confirm the deliveries

If the delivery wasn't completed, you can select the tick box, and select Not Completed. This will put the item back into the Outstanding Deliveries.

Carls Tip: Thermal Printer is printing out small and/or long paper.

Sometimes when Firefox updates or when people change things with printers or the PCs, often the thermal printer ends up printing with large margin around the printout and sometimes prints the length of A4.

To Fix this, open up Firefox. Select the Orange Firefox tab, expand Print, and select Page Setup.

Select the Margins & Header/Footer tab

Set Top, Left, Right and Bottom to 0.0.
Under Headers & Footers section, set all 6 drop down boxes to be --blank--

Select OK. Then log into RPii and print a receipt.
